Role Purpose

As global lead, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of our global sustainability targets relating to our workplaces, supporting the development of our “re-imagine” strategy and identifying and prioritising actions to meet the specific goals. This will include delivery of our ambitious sustainability requirements as defined by our Science Based Targets, incorporating new design standards, including sustainability certification, and operating models within the built environment, minimizing the use of natural resources and offering a high standard of employee health, safety and well-being.

What this job involves

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working in partnership with our global energy & sustainability team, develop a global Net Zero Carbon strategy, which will in-turn influence the processes and solutions to be put in place to meet our 2025 and 2030 milestone targets;
  • Establish strong working relationships with our BaBT global and regional workplace leads to deliver against local targets as well as the overarching global targets;
  • Support the strategic consulting team in the development of the “re-imagine” strategy to evaluate the impact on our Science Based Targets;
  • Incorporate sustainability into all Real Estate strategy development and decision-making processes;
  • Develop and implement a multi-faceted global energy management strategy for a predominantly leased portfolio, working on both direct interventions and influencing landlords and other stakeholders;
  • Manage the data collection process for all sustainability related metrics within JLL’s technology platform and produce monthly and quarterly reports that are tailored to meet our requirements;
  • Drive operational improvements though the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance across the global real estate portfolio.
  • Implement resource management processes to drive our circularity agenda, including the removal of single use plastics.
  • Drive the sustainability agenda within our construction and fit-out projects, delivering formal certification, meeting targets for material circularity and enhancing the quality of our office environment;
  • Support our global sustainability team with the provision of appropriate, high quality information and with external stakeholder engagement;
  • Support JLL’s position as a leader in sustainability, through involvement with industry-facing programmes of work and partnership organisations

Sound like you? To apply you need to be/have:

  • Proven track record in providing sustainability advice, either in-house or as a consultant;
  • An understanding of the holistic sustainability landscape and a passion for tackling climate change and the wider sustainability challenges;
  • Understanding of Global energy and sustainability initiatives including but not limited to UN Sustainable Development Goals, Science Based Targets, CDP, TCFD;
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising with, engaging and presenting to a range of stakeholders;
  • A global mind-set with an appreciation of different cultures and circumstances, with availability to travel globally if required;
  • Strong leadership with the ability to plan and prioritise deadlines and think strategically;
  • Experience in working under pressure and to tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks;
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to manage and interpret information to make effective decisions;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, in written, visual and numeric work;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience developing sustainability solutions; and
  • Personable character with an ability to foster good working relationships with colleagues.
