About the role

The Programme Assistant will support the International Energy Programme team.

The position is an excellent opportunity to work within a professional and developing organisation, and to gain first-hand insight in portfolio management.

We are looking for someone with competence in grants and project administration.

Key responsibilities

The role involves:

Grant management cycle (80%):

  • Grants and finance administration and related grantee and team communications;
  • Due diligence on new and existing grantees, with site visits when necessary;
  • Creation of grant requests in an online grant management system;
  • Following-up the grant contracting stage;
  • Grant monitoring through review of grant reporting (financial and narrative);
  • Supporting grantees through the grant life cycle.

Administrative support and event management (20%):

  • Helping team members with the planning and organisation of annual meetings and events;
  • Meeting organising and scheduling;
  • Manage the calendar and provide administrative support to the Programme Director when required (research, event organising, planning site visits etc.);
  • Other duties as required.

The Programme Assistant will report to the Senior Associate based in the Netherlands and will collaborate closely with the team.

Experience and competencies

  • Project/financial management – 1-2 years relevant work experience in financial processes and administrative processes preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English (essential) any other language is a plus;
  • Strong administrative and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), experience with Apple Mac is an asset;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to take direction and initiative, work well under pressure, and be a creative problem-solver;
  • Experience working in an international team environment.
  • Impeccable ethics, working confidentially and ability to operate withing a high security environment.

The Hague preferred, other office locations (Brussels, Paris, London) possible.

Candidates need to be in the possession of a work permit for the work location.
