Sr. Engineer Field Service - Steam Turbines and Compressors
Opportunity for an experienced technical expert who wants to step up and support our growth strategy.
The position
In this position, reporting to the Manager Engineering, you will be the leading Engineer for our Steam Turbines & Compressors (ST&C) operations and maintenance activities in the field service engineering team. You will be based in our Sulzer Venlo location and expected to travel to customers/on site on a regular basis. Based on your experience, diagnostics and analysis you will guide our service teams to ensure continuous and reliable operations of our customers equipment. You will be responsible to set up engineering procedures, work scopes and specifications for inspection and maintenance of steam turbines (up to approx. 75MW) and compressors in accordance with our Sulzer quality and safety standards.
In addition, you will assist the sales department whenever needed to visit our customers for technical alignment and you will support our tendering engineers by analyzing requests for quotation in order to decide the scope of work, tooling and schedules required.
Finally, you enjoy to actively develop our teams on specific engineering skills on steam turbines and compressors using your extensive field service knowledge and experience.
Your profile
- You have a degree in (mechanical) engineering;
- You have a minimum of 10 years extensive field service experience with Steam Turbines and Compressors maintenance in the following industries: Oil&Gas (refineries), Petrochem, Air Separation, and/or Power Generation;
- You have experience with inspections, equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and typical findings;
- You have knowledge of proven site refurbishment techniques and knowledge of used materials in the equipment;
- You are fluent in written and spoken English;
- You have excellent developed communication and presentation skills;
- You have a proactive and flexible attitude with the willingness to international travel for up to 70% of your time.
