Your role as a trusted strategical partner with ambitions to develop the business

You will head up the trading activities and be responsible for transparency around PnL development, both on trading strategies and structured products. You will be responsible for substantial positions in the market and you will be a trusted partner in a rapidly expanding European power setup. Therefore, it is expected that you are prudent in your risk taking and communications hereof. You will take the lead in a broad cooperation within the leadership team in European Power Trading, be responsible for onboarding additional business within structured products and flow business and act as an active business partner on origination-related commercial cases.

Responsibilities

  • lead and build our Cross-Commodity Trading team – including everything from recruitment, motivation and development of employees to defining and following up on project deliveries, etc.;
  • be responsible for all trading activities within team;
  • responsibly adapt our business to dynamical trading activities across teams;
  • manage the balance between delivering on the daily operations and driving the team;
  • proactively identify, propose and develop profitable trading opportunities, adding value to existing business across all activities in DC;
  • ensure alignment and support progress with both internal and external stakeholders, including Risk Management.

Qualifications

We expect that you:

  • hold a relevant master’s degree within Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business or similar;
  • have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading a trading team;
  • have relevant experience from a trading position.

  • act as a player-coach; as the Head of Cross-Commodity Trading, you will lead the team and take active part in daily trading operations;

  • take an analytical and structured approach to your job. The job requires a great analytical mindset to understand how coal, gas and EUA prices correlate with power;
