Develop and implement the route to market strategy to enable the development of solar assets focusing on Italy and supporting the wider EMEA development activities.
Optimising revenues and project returns through PPAs both with utilities and corporates as well as through participation in auctions or other opportunities. Supporting the management of PPA contract and associated merchant risk.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identifying and developing market opportunities with major energy users and utilities focusing on Italy and other European locations as agreed.
Identifying and responding to tenders for renewable energy from Corporate offtakers.
Work with suppliers and other market participants to develop innovative routes to market to secure bankable revenue to support solar development.
Work with legal department, structured finance and other internal stakeholders to negotiate heads of terms & PPA contracts
Liaise with structured finance, development and commercial management to create power marketing solutions that optimise funding opportunities and enable development
Understand developments in the European markets and energy policy and the impact these will have on power marketing in order to keep Lightsource BP at the forefront of the market – including in relation to flexibility and storage.
Monitoring and managing merchant risk in order to optimises revenues for a growing portfolio of solar assets.
Who we’re looking for
An in depth understanding of the European energy policy and markets with deep experience and knowledge of the Italian power market.
A secure understanding of market influences and fundamentals.
An understanding of energy price risk management approaches and tools in order to optimise revenues.
Experience negotiating corporate PPAs for buyers or developers.
Understanding of dispatching renewable assets Qualifications.
In depth experience of the renewables market.
Proven track record in delivering route to market solutions including PPAs.
Confident and experienced presenting complex propositions at board level.
Experience in optimisation of storage facilities or in participation in ancillary services a benefit.
Experience participating in renewables support schemes such as auctions.
