The job assignment

Charging is a critical part of Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to a sustainable energy future. You will be part of the EMEA charging team within Tesla, the team is responsible for all the charging programs within Europe, namely Supercharging, Destination charging and home/workplace charging. As Sr. Analyst, Energy procurement, you will be working closely with our EMEA Manager for EV charging and be responsible for optimizing our electricity procurement operations across the region. Projects in this role will focus on energy procurement, tariff optimization, new business models, financial forecasting, and cost management of the Company’s charging portfolio. The role will require significant collaboration with business units throughout the company.

The responsibilities of this position may change over time this role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the project and the organization.

Learning goals & Tasks

  • Energy costs controlling/reporting/optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce costs across EMEA energy markets (Netherlands, Germany, UK, Norway) and work internally and externally to execute on these initiatives. Create sophisticated analytical frameworks and tools to track cost savings.
  • Energy procurement: Define optimal procurement strategy based on internal and external factors, lead electricity supply tenders and contract negotiation end-to-end with external stakeholders for all charging programs across the EMEA region. Manage relationships with key energy suppliers and energy buyers across Europe.
  • Business development: Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, assess, develop and successfully execute on alternative electricity supply strategies.
  • Monitoring regulatory markets and energy policies: Understand and monitor regulatory framework for energy generation, transport, storage, consumption, taxation, and environmental commodities markets at EU and local level.
  • Some domestic and international travel necessary

Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • 5 years+ work experience in in the electricity or energy procurement industry
  • Superb organizational skills with strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills, both writing and speaking - ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of individuals
  • Highly structured individual with affinity for business models, optimization, and creative thinking
  • Highly energetic personality with an ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI.
