Role Summary:

In this role, you will lead the preparation of the production start, qualification and ramp-up for generator magnet modues to meet commercial demand for the HaliadeX. You will collaborate across functions with Engineering and Supply Chain teams as well as with external parties and equipment suppliers in order to meet quality, time and cost KPI and develop a roadmap for NTI implementation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative manufacturing processes, tools and machines in collaboration with suppliers and GE internal functions in order to secure HaliadeX magnet module production ramp-up.
  • Define, own and report KPI in order to meet HaliadeX ramp-up requirements for safety, quality, lead time, cost, capacity.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to achieve best in class results (e.g. 7 ways, 3P, poka yoke, etc.).
  • Own and drive on time delivery, commissioning and qualification of the production equipment.
  • Drive implementation of new technologies in the supply chain in order to reduce cost & time and improve quality for key components along the value chain.
  • Identify risk and cost drivers in the manufacturing process and drive design for manufacturability with design Engineering teams.
  • Develop tool and machine specifications in order to deliver best in class component quality.
  • Work closely with machine and tool suppliers globally to create value maximizing technical solutions for GE Generate and protect GE IP
  • Create technology and supply chain roadmap in order to mitigate supply magnet supply risk.
  • Work with GE experts, suppliers and 3rd parties to ensure full compliance with relevant safety, regulatory and technical standards.
  • Drive integration and optimization of supplier processes and GE internal processes for identified key technologies Drive supplier CapEx and component cost reduction Collaborate with stakeholders across functions (Sourcing, SQE, AME, ME, Engineering, Service, T&I, others), GE Businesses (Onshore Wind, LM, Hydro, Grid, others) and with Chief Engineering Office.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Deep domain expertise in manufacturing and assembly of magnetic components.
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Science, Technology/Innovation Management, or related field.
  • Experience in design-to-cost.
  • Significant Manufacturing, Engineering, technical program/project management experience in relevant industries.
  • Ability to work remotely in international virtual team environments.
  • Ability to travel internationally according to project need (15%-20%).

If contracted in Spain:

Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Analytical and data driven.
  • Prior experience in Wind Industry, Manufacturing, or Sourcing.
  • Six Sigma/Lean trained and demonstrated ability to use tools (GE Employees only).
  • Good understanding of WTG Products.
  • OMLP/EEDP/REDP Graduate (GE Employees only).
