The Onshore Drilling division of Saipem is looking for a Technical Safety Engineer, who will support the QHSE Manager in developing and maintaining technical safety requirements for drilling rigs.
Moreover, the candidate will perform the following activities:
Provide necessary support to ensure that all design and execution activities carried out by Saipem are conducted in strict accordance with the Client HSE Requirements, Saipem HSE Standards, applicable local legislation, International Standards (ISO14001 and OSHAS18001).
Develop HSE Risk Assessments for drilling rigs design, set up and operation.
Provide necessary support to ensure that Project HSE plans and procedures are developed and implemented throughout the entire project life.
Participate in pre-installation survey, identify safety criticalities and environmental sensitive areas and design mitigation measures.
Assist the Project and Asset teams in the Risk Management process (i.e. HAZOP, HAZID, Hazard and Effect Management Process, Risk Assessment, etc.).
Develop HSE case studies for drilling rigs.
Participate in site HSE Inspections and audits.
Define and monitor Asset Integrity KPIs to prevent the occurrence of major accident hazards.
Perform Asset Integrity audits.
The ideal candidate has the following technical skills:
Knowledge of electrical hazards and accident prevention including but not limited to Ppe and Lockout-tag out procedures.
Knowledge of audit techniques and capability to manage HSE (safety/environmental) audits and site inspections in order to supervise the implementation of specific safety technical requirements or procedures on worksite.
Knowledge of Major Accident Prevention management system; Knowledge of asset integrity principles and requirements; Capability to design or to review the design developed by specialized vendors and subcontractors to assure Asset Integrity in Operations.
Knowledge of criteria, standards, main techniques and methodologies for hazards identification during design and work execution; Knowledge of related control measures including the hierarchy of controls, Knowledge of development safety cases, identification of safety critical elements (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Bow-Tie analysis) and performance standards.
Basic Knowledge of technical safety requirements such as hazardous areas, active and passive fire protection, fire and gas detection, machine guarding, accessibility and maintainability, human factors engineering.
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering;
Over 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Sector, possibly involved in Drilling activities;
Knowledge of international standards ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001;
Ability to collaborate within an international team; flexible approach to different audience; tenacity to ensure successful outcomes; curiosity and learning orientation;
