Missions and Responsibilities

WHAT DOES AN ENERGY PORTFOLIO MANAGER DO?

As an Energy Portfolio Manager, you will play a key role in the optimization of Air Liquide energy strategy, both at operational and strategic level. You will manage part of the Air Liquide European portfolio for Natural Gas, Electricity and CO2 sourcing and strategy. You will be in charge to drive daily and short term operations as well as issue mid- to long-term strategic recommendations:

  • Close contact with operations and energy markets: Actively monitor energy markets and execute transactions under the validated purchasing strategies (portfolio management).
  • Develop strategic vision: Contribute to mid to long term energy strategy for the targeted area of Europe. Provide support and expertise to Countries for optimizing their energy portfolio and mitigate risk exposure.

The position is located in Brussels and is part of SEGE (Société Européenne de Gestion de l’Energie - “European Energy Management”).

Competencies and Profile

WHAT ARE THE EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS?

Ideal candidate has a first 3 years experience in the industry and/or energy world. You can become an Energy Manager with a Masters in Engineering, Business or Science. What really counts is your ability and willingness to continuously develop yourself and work in a team. A plus is to be passionate by the energy markets and its challenges!

  • Analytical Skills: You will work with a complex and constantly evolving energy market environment. You will need to be able to use data and analytical tools to propose optimisation and decisions.
  • Strategic mindset: We count on your ability to summarize to draw strategic recommendations out of your analysis.
  • Leadership and communication skills: You are point of contact for multiple subsidiaries and counterparts.
  • Flexibility: You are able and motivated to work concurrently on two levels: particular (project) and general (conceptual).
  • Intercultural skills: You are empathetic and eager to work with team members within different countries.
  • Transversal management: You will be at the heart of a dynamic organisation, working closely together with members of many different departments.
  • Learning agility: You get the best out of situations by learning on the job and by peers. You are willing to continuously develop your skills and knowledge.
